Harmony Project: 2024 Impact Statement
A Word From David Brown
In a year marked by more forces pulling us apart, Harmony chose a different direction. We chose to connect with one another.
In 2024, we saw what happens when connection becomes the center of the story. When a young person who has only just arrived in this country navigates a new language, a new school, and a new world – and steps onto a stage to sing anyway. When a person with a disability wrestles with self-doubt and expectation, only to claim the spotlight and show the room their brilliance. When someone behind bars confronts walls that aren’t just physical, but societal, and still creates music, stories, and art that demand to be seen. When thousands gather under one roof, in music and service, to celebrate the neighbors who dedicate their lives to helping others.
Everywhere we turned in 2024, the message was the same: Belonging is not a luxury. It is a requirement for a healthy and thriving community.
That is why Harmony exists – to break barriers that isolate us, and build belonging that brings us together.
None of this work is easy. The world didn’t suddenly become less complicated in 2024. But what we witnessed together proves that people are hungry for connection. They want to show up. They want to build something together despite what divides us. They want communities rooted in dignity, compassion, and shared purpose.
We don’t take that responsibility lightly. As we grow, we are committed to being thoughtful stewards of the resources entrusted to us, agile enough to respond to the changing needs of our communities, and bold enough to continue expanding the reach of this movement.
That is the direction we are heading: bigger tables, stronger bridges, and a community where everyone is seen and heard.
Thank you for standing with us – for investing in creativity, choosing connection, and helping build the kind of world we all want to live in.
With gratitude,
